Peace, love, and welcome!
I’m Genie Santiago (she/they) and I’m a multiracial, Indigenous, fat, queer, neurodivergent, Musician, Writer, and Certified Holistic Life Coach. My work draws from my lived experiences as a trauma survivor and human with many marginalized identities. I truly believe that each moment in my life, good and bad, has led me to this path of helping others navigate all of life’s moments. Healing is not an easy linear voyage and my own encounters with the health and wellness industry wasn’t always positive. I often didn’t feel understood, seen, or safe. As time went on, and after tons of research, I was able to find support from professionals and communities who shared my story and identities. It shouldn’t have been that difficult to find safe wellness spaces, but it further validated the need for more wellness practitioners who were focused on decolonizing health and wellness.
So here I am. I went to college and studied Literature and Education, but my calling as a healer grew louder until I could no longer ignore it. I threw myself into music and focused on creating healing performance experiences where myself, audience members, and other artists could thrive. Music can be so powerful and is deeply aligned with well-being and healing. I’m grateful that I’m able to help others through my art and I wanted to take that further. I began working with other artists on their branding, marketing, project launches, and wellness. That led to my DEI and wellness consultant work and workshops in cultural institutions and nonprofits. These spaces allowed me to see just how much individuals and organizations can benefit from deeper support such as life coaching.
I became a Certified Holistic Life Coach at Radiant Coaches Academy, an ICF (International Coaching Federation), and I’m currently working towards my PCC (Professional Certified Coach) ICF credentials. I am committed to growth and staying informed and educated on not only my field of practice, but also how to better serve community. I’m currently working towards my masters to become a therapist!
Sometimes I look back on my life and I’m amazed that I’m here. I got here because of my unique abilities and the support I received along the way. I recognize that although self-care is a simple idea, some folx, especially marginalized groups, have been conditioned to ignore their needs and boundaries. We were taught that we aren't worthy of our wellness and abundance. We were conditioned to neglect our self-care and basic wellness needs. It's time to evolve this mindset and step into your true power. You are worthy of wellness and abundance! I am here to help you reconnect to your possibilities and all that you deserve.
I'm not here to feed you toxic positivity or teach you coping mechanisms for existing in a world that was designed to keep marginalized folks from truly being well and thriving. I'm here to uplift and empower you.
